I have read a lot of reviews on this item,but not many that were actually helpful.
The iron has an opening in the back to see the butane level but the label on the fuel tanks obstructs the view.I will end up removing the stickers for a clear view.
the iron itself is approximately 12″ long and about an inch thick. The soldering tips heat up extremely fast and solder and clean up well.
The flameless tip is ACTUALLY flameless.I have used the item for a little under an hour accumulated time and I still have a half of a tank.
The size of the flame in torch mode can range from a little less than a half an inch to about an inch and a half to two inches.
The iron usually lights on the first or second light when cold.
Cooldown time is approximately 5-10 min.

All in all, this is a great item and an excellent gift for someone who solders small circuit bords.

(MY OPINION) The ONLY thing that I do not like is that when the iron doesn’t light the first time, you must take the switch all the way down, hold safety again,then relight. NOT A BIG DEAL. But I can see this getting irritating if the iron has trouble lighting

Portable Soldering Iron works great!

I purchased this butane soldering iron/torch to solder heavy coax cable for two-way radio antenna installations where electric power isn’t available. In the short time that I’ve used it, this is one tool that I don’t want to leave the shop without! It’s well built and has good balance. It has plenty of heat to solder connectors onto heavy coax (14ga center conductor) cable. This is one purchase that you won’t be disappointed with!

Gets the Job Done

I love using this product. My work involves lots of wire repair on aircraft and making wiring harnesses. Both are a breeze with this soldiering iron. Does what it’s supposed to and gets the job done.
